Bio

Ellen Bee (she/her) is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and specializes in the treatment of Anxiety Disorders, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Mood Disorders, Adoption Issues, and Adjustment-Related Disorders across the lifespan. As a first generation Chinese American, Ellen’s clinical interests include working with clients to explore family of origin and bicultural/multicultural narratives, particularly surrounding cultural expectations, perfectionism, and values. She also acknowledges the importance of intersectionality in understanding a client’s presenting issues, honors each individual’s diverse backgrounds, and provides a safe space for clients to feel seen and heard.

Working from a culturally-sensitive and evidence-based framework, Ellen is committed to providing her clients with empathy, warmth, and authenticity, to create a safe space for growth and exploration. She works with clients of all ages, in both individual and family therapy formats. Ellen practices from several empirically supported frameworks, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Exposure Response Prevention, Family Systems Therapy, ARC (Attachment, Regulation, and Competency), Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions (SPACE), and SPACE Expanded ARFID/Failure to Launch. Her integrative style results in a therapeutic relationship that promotes self-awareness, builds coping and resilience, uncovers clients’ inherent strengths, and helps clients to develop the strategies needed to move forward in their lives.
