Bio

Hi! My name is Morganne.  I am an Afro-Asian, queer, feminist, minimalist, intersectional environmentalist, empath who is an intuitive holistic psychologist and advocate of ecological healing (she/her).  I show people how to navigate intersectionality while finding true mental health which stems from self-assurance, genuine self-love, and connecting with who you truly are, the planet, and the universe that surrounds us. I view health holistically and believe real health starts from within.

I specialize in holistic mental health, mindfulness/intuition, intersectionality, trauma (including intergenerational trauma, domestic violence, and narcissistic abuse), highly sensitive people/empaths, and children, teens, and adults.  In my practice, I see mostly see adults due to limited after-school availability.

By training, I am a licensed clinical social worker and a school psychologist. I am passionate about wholeness for every child & person and am accustomed to progressing therapy.  I am like a midwife that assists in spiritual awakening, or coming back to who you truly are inside, as I help people with their mental health.

In our time together, I use clinical expertise, holistic/mindfulness principles, and intuition to help you 1) navigate the landscape of your mental health, and 2) uncover thoughts in your subconscious mind while 3) supporting you in developing a deeper connection and love of who you truly are and the universe that surrounds us.

I believe in the long-term value of intuitive holistic therapy, offering a path to sustainable healing that can ultimately save you time, effort & money.

This approach is more efficient than traditional therapy in that it helps you manage symptoms and the ecosystem between you, the environment, and your health AND guides you toward wellness. It’s a transformative experience focused on empowering you to navigate life with compassion, clarity, and love.

On my journey, I was trained by Dr. Beck’s colleagues in Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), and fell in love with having useful skills to partner with others.

This process escalated when I personally discovered the power of holistic healing. Knowing how the mind, body, heart, and Soul are connected, I found ways to help curb anxiety, depression, and common occurrences, like trauma. Systems, intersectionality, communities, advocacy, the planet, healthful foods, the power of belief; and how all of these things are intimately interwoven in the dynamics of health became a reality to me. I now teach people how to listen to their inner self, elevate their consciousness, so they can truly have wellness, happiness, wholeness, and real life.

For further information about holistic mental health, intuitive healing, or myself, please take a look at my links page which also has a link to my blog (that highlights intersectionality and mental health for various black identities).  There you can find resources for you or a friend.  Here is the link: https://www.journeycbtcounseling.com/links

I also offer a free group that is open to the community because I am passionate about social justice and believe that health is activism.  If you are interested, you can sign up here: https://www.journeycbtcounseling.com/events

Values and Approach:

Oneness with ourselves, our communities, and the planet; social justice, and health starting from within are core principles of my practice.

I honor providing a space where people feel comfortable, seen, human, and can be vulnerable, regardless of their walk of life.  Saying this, full respect, informed consent, answering questions, honesty; ethical, compassionate, & competent care is my standard of practice.

My practice is also a concierge holistic care practice, meaning I carry a smaller caseload so you receive personalized attention, where your health and relationships stay first; so you can truly heal.

Sessions are primarily virtual, but I do offer in-person session by appointment.  Home visits, meeting at a nature trail (my personal favorite), coffee shops, at your event or place of work, and my office are options.  Please note travel fees of my hourly rate apply when not meeting at my office, in addition to the cost of the session.

With that said, I offer a free 15-minute consultation for new prospective clients because finding the right therapist is important. Feel free to contact me about scheduling, or fill out the online form on my website: https://www.journeycbtcounseling.com/contact

Rates and Forms of Payment:

I am an out-of-network provider so I keep you and your health first. I work for you, not the insurance company. Out-of-network benefits are routine and common, especially in the DC Metro area where my practice is located.

Please see the FAQ section of my practice’s website for information about how to see if you have out-of-network benefits or what the process is like. I am also happy to answer questions. Here is the link: https://www.journeycbtcounseling.com/therapy

Saying this, I understand how barriers to competent behavioral health care is a systemic issue. I run a free group once monthly and am also affiliated with provider registries, like AMHC that have therapy fund(s).  The link to AMHC’s therapy fund is here: https://www.asianmhc.org/lotus-therapy-fund/
