Bio

Hello, this is Xiaowei (Wendy). I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Certified Rehabilitation Counselor, based in New York State. I feel passionate to serve Asian community and enjoy working with Asian clients, immigrants, and international students.

As a culturally competent therapist, I take an integrative approach and a comprehensive perspective to understand and support my clients, including employing CBT, psychodynamic, person-centered, and mindfulness. I have helped clients with a variety of issues, such as depression, anxiety, stress, low self-esteem, lack of self-love and self-respect, challenging relationships, childhood trauma, interpersonal conflicts, life transitions, and so on.

I value and trust the healing power, resilience, and strengths within my clients. I understand how painful it is for them to deal with difficult feelings and emotions, such as depression, anxiety, anger, loneliness, isolation, and helplessness. “You are not alone on this. I will be there to support you to reduce your mental and emotional stress, understand your mind, take care of your heart, cultivate self-confidence, and build up healthy coping skills in your best interest.”

If you are ready to start your therapeutic journey and personal healing, please feel free to reach out to me via email or telephone. I will provide a free 15 minutes phone consultation if you are interested in working together. I am really looking forward to hearing from you.
