Hello, I’m Kathy. One of the therapists here at Your Story Counselling.

Growing up in a family where emotions weren’t talked about or expressed, I came to realize how deeply that shaped the way I view myself, my relationships, and the world around me. We all need someone’s help to explore and understand why we feel or think a certain way when things seem off, and I hope to create that space for you.

I’m a registered psychotherapist and social worker with over five years of experience. During this time, I’ve worked with individuals from diverse backgrounds, helping them better understand their inner world and identify what truly matters to them.

I’m trained and certified in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), the primary modality that informs my work. My passion lies in working with individuals and couples who have faced various life challenges, supporting them in feeling seen, understood, and accepted — both by themselves and by those they care about.

I believe deeply in the power of positive emotional experiences to foster growth and change. I trust that my clients know themselves best, and I strive to provide a warm, non-judgmental space for them to share their life stories.

Outside of work, you’ll likely find me spending time with my two lovely pups or tending to my garden. I enjoy activities that help me stay grounded and present in the moment. How about you?”
