My approach is primarily relational and multicultural, which means that I believe in the significant impact that relationships and cultures (ethnicities, families of origin, neighborhoods, etc.) have on our lives. I also take on a non-pathologizing view rooted in the belief that many of our unwanted behaviors were born out of our instinct to survive pain.
I believe in the inherent capacity for each of us to change. It takes the hard work of looking inward and asking scary questions whose answers might leave you, momentarily, with intense feelings. But know that I will be there as you make your way through these hard places until you arrive at renewed hope and meaning for yourself and your relationships.
