I am a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist (LMFT 98694) and I have been working in the mental health field for over 10 years. I completed my Bachelor’s Degree in Communications & Public Relations with a minor in Sociology from California State University, Long Beach. I later completed my graduate coursework at National University where I attained a Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology. My approach to psychotherapy is grounded in an attachment-based framework utilizing a varying mix of interventions from emotionally-focused therapy, experiential, family systems, narrative, psychodynamic, trauma-informed, and cognitive behavioral methodologies.

I received initial training in various community mental health settings serving children and families. My clinical work experience also includes working at College Hospital in their psychiatric partial hospitalization program, providing case management and facilitating group therapy sessions for individuals with dual diagnosis issues and severe mental illness. I have been trained and certified by the Department of Mental Health in evidence-based practices:  Trauma-Focused CBT, Child-Parent Psychotherapy, and MAP (managing and adapting practice). I am on the certification track to become a Certified Emotionally-Focused Therapist through ICEEFT. I am a UCLA PEERS® Certified Provider – a social skills program for neurodivergent adolescents & young adults. My specializations include treating issues related to maternal mental health, low self-esteem, pre-marital/marital/family distress, anxiety, depression, and trauma. I am passionate about working with autistic individuals and their families, people of color, AAPI and the LGBTQ community.

Outside of my role as a therapist I am also a wife, mother of two, a step-mom, sister, and the daughter of Filipino immigrants. I love the outdoors and enjoy nature hikes, swimming, Vinyasa yoga, exploring and indulging in different cultures & food, and spending quality time with my family and friends.
