My area of expertise is working with individuals who have a history of childhood and/or intergenerational trauma; most of whom identify as adult children from dysfunctional families who are still negatively impacted by their upbringing as evidenced by their intrapersonal, interpersonal, and romantic relationship struggles.
I specialize in helping individuals who have issues with: depression, anxiety, panic, intrusive thoughts, stress, motivation, attention/focus concerns and procrastination, family discord, identity (e.g., chronic emptiness, low self-esteem), general adjustment in new situations (e.g., moving to NYC), social/communication skills, especially boundary-setting and emotional expression (**one of my personal favorite skills to work on**), social and romantic relationships, work-related challenges, codependency.
I use an integrative approach because it allows treatment to be flexible and interventions can be tailored based on the needs of the individual. I use evidence-based practices which include CBT, DBT, solution-focused brief therapy, and object-relations therapy. This allows us to learn about the past, focus on the present, and prepare for the future. Please browse my website for more information.
