Are you feeling overwhelmed, sad, worried, stressed out, or stuck? Are you struggling with life’s challenges or your relationships? I believe that therapy in a safe, accepting, and compassionate space allows for the self-understanding necessary for growth and healing. I work with adults and young adults (18+) to explore feelings and gain a better self-understanding, specializing in anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship issues, race and multicultural issues, and life transitions.
I believe that therapy is most helpful in a nonjudgmental and empathic setting where you can feel comfortable as you explore your thoughts and feelings. I employ psychodynamic principles that are insight oriented to better understand how your past experiences shape how you experience the present. Together, we can identify unhelpful patterns impacting your relationships with others and yourself. I also utilize a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) perspective so together we can examine the link between your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors to solve current problems and modify unhelpful thinking and behavior patterns.
My advanced training includes the fellowship program at the Institute of Contemporary Psychotherapy and Psychoanalysis in Washington, DC and psychodynamic clinical training at the Washington School of Psychiatry.
