I am so glad you are here. Therapy can often feel awkward and uncomfortable and I do whatever I can to help you ease into the process of therapy. Especially coming from a system where talking about mental health may be taboo or uncomfortable, I always keep that in mind especially working with AAPI-identifying folx.
I believe that strong, affirming relationships are at the core of our mental well-being and recreating that in the therapeutic space is my ultimate goal. Inherently, broader social contexts and systems deeply impact our experience as humans and I always bring those perspectives into the session.
As a warm and collaborative therapist, I often pull from psychodynamic, existential and person-centered therapy. I am also trained in Brainspotting (intervention that works by processing and releasing core neurophysiological sources of emotional/body pain), Emotionally Focused Therapy, and actively training in Internal Family Systems.
I identify as a 2nd gen Asian/Korean American and have a particular interest in working with transracial adoptees, musicians, college/graduate students, and interracial/intercultural couples. I love working with teens, young adults, and couples working through infidelity and future family planning. I also provide therapy partially in Korean on a case-by-case basis.
I am currently accepting new clients! – Finding the right fit is so important so please feel free to set up an initial 15-minute phone call prior to scheduling an appointment. I look forward to hearing from you!
