You’re the one that others go to for help. Whether it’s with your parents, friends, partner(s), it’s you that others turn to for advice, for venting, for being the strong backing for others to lean on. Little do others know, you don’t feel…have never felt like that strong backing. Little do others know, that you’ve also endured a lot of pain in your life, wishing that others would catch on (like you do for them), but they never do (or they do, but they don’t think it’s a big deal like it is).
Hi, I’m Gina. I’m a therapist who specializes in helping adults navigate the effects of estrangement, especially among young adults, Asian Americans, and caregivers.
I am dedicated to co-creating a space for all of my clients to fully see themselves again. In so many areas of life, we may be forced to only show certain parts of ourselves because of the very real repercussions if we did ever show our full, authentic selves. Together, we will help you identify and expand upon your strengths that perhaps have gotten shoved away. We will bring to the surface neglected parts of yourself that were maybe too shameful or dangerous to ever showcase. Often, many of us will only show the parts of ourselves that are “safe”; the parts that won’t lead to rejection, isolation, etc. All along the way, we will practice techniques to mindfully accommodate your needs/wants at this time to reduce overwhelm. You deserve to feel empowered; no longer helpless.
