Hello, ahlan wa sahlan, kumustaka! I’m Heba, a Johns Hopkins University trained mental health therapist, serving the DMV. I specialize in working with adult children of immigrant parents and multicultural individuals or couples who experience chronic stress, anxiety, or depression. Many clients begin therapy with me at Calamansi Counseling to heal from past trauma, process the current political climate, receive support in navigating family, career, or relationship conflicts, unexpected life events, and to gain a deeper understanding of the layered depths of their identity.
.
Together, we explore ways to build lives, relationships, and communities that honor cultural, spiritual, and ancestral wisdom, while we challenge oppressive norms and nurture resilience. I offer talk therapy that is LGBTQ+ affirming, and integrates somatics, art, mindfulness and cultural/ancestral wisdom as pathways for healing.
.
Therapy with me offers a liberatory space where the intersection of all your identities and the depths of your lived experiences are seen, held and honored. If you are looking for a place to exhale, where you donโ€™t have to code switch, mask, or flex your chameleon superpower to experience a sense of belonging, reach out and let’s connect!
