Finding a therapist who understands your cultural background and lived experiences can make all the difference—especially when navigating anxiety, trauma therapy, and questions about identity.
Hi there, I’m Tyana Tavakol, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and trauma therapist! As an Iranian-American therapist and child of immigrants, I recognize the unique challenges that come with balancing cultural expectations, family dynamics, and personal growth. Many of my clients are Asian, Middle Eastern, or first- and second-generation immigrants who feel caught between two worlds, struggling with perfectionism, people-pleasing, or the weight of inherited trauma they never asked for.
My expertise in trauma healing means I take a deeply compassionate and insight-driven approach, helping you understand how past experiences and survival responses shape the patterns showing up in your life today and helping you break free from living in survival mode. Whether you’re working through healing old wounds, anxiety, navigating relationships, or trying to figure out who you are outside of external pressures, therapy is a space where we can explore these struggles together. My goal is to help you build self-trust, strengthen your ability to feel more at ease with your emotions, and create a life that feels more aligned with your authentic self—without guilt, shame, or fear holding you back.
