Contract Position

The Asian Mental Health Collective (AMHC) seeks a contractor to serve as Clinical Mental Health Consultant to the organization

 

The Clinical Mental Health Consultant will support AMHC by providing clinical expertise on strategic projects and products. 

 

The position reports directly to the Senior Director of Programming.

Drawing from the collective wisdom of our experiences across the Asian diaspora, the Asian Mental Health Collective (AMHC) is dedicated to cultivating a robust ecosystem of mental health care by and for the Asian community that weaves together clinical support, virtual community spaces, and peer support for providers, fostering personal and generational change.

  

AMHC’s Core approaches:

  • We fund and connect Asian people with culturally informed clinical services to increase access to care. 
  • We build wide-reaching virtual community spaces to foster conversation, connection, and peer support around mental health.
  • We cultivate connections between Asian mental health providers to break isolation and build solidarity.
  • We educate our community on mental health issues and socio-political conditions Asians face through approachable storytelling, online content creation, and community dialogue.

 

Responsibilities and Functions

  • Provide expert consultation from a clinical mental health perspective on program-related procedures, program evaluation, material creation, material review, etc. as requested by AMHC staff (and approved by the Senior Director of Programming).  Work may include:
    • Reviewing psychoeducation material for social and other media
    • Reviewing program evaluation material
    • Reviewing support group facilitation plan
    • Observing support groups where necessary
    • Providing clinical research and guidance on program policies
  • Possible additional work includes reviewing therapy fund applications and making recommendations for therapy fund recipients in coordination with AMHC staff 

 

Experience and Qualities

Required

  • Must be fully licensed with mental health credentials (LPC, LMFT, PsyD, LCSW, etc.)
  • Must have a graduate degree in a mental health field.
  • Must have at least 5 years of experience practicing and seeing clients.
  • Experience in serving the Asian diaspora in the US. An understanding of Asian cultures, groups, and culturally responsive mental health care are necessary
  • Comfort with using Google Suite, Slack, Google Sheets/Excel and other tools and/or willingness to learn
  • Must have current US work authorization. Independent contractor positions are not eligible for visa sponsorship.

We will email applicants of interest to schedule interviews. Final round applicants must provide references and proof of credentials before the contract can be finalized.

 

Compensation: $40/hour at an estimated range of 3-10 hours/week. The consultant may determine their own work cadence, but will work closely with the Senior Director of Programming to determine a schedule for communication and assignment deadlines.
