Carla (she/her/siya) is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 16 years of experience working as a medical social worker and psychotherapist. Based in Southern California, she obtained her Master of Social Work degree from the University of Southern California and Bachelor’s degree from California State University Long Beach with a major in Women’s Studies and a minor in Philosophy. Having worked in schools, community mental health agencies and hospitals, she is aware of the systemic inequities that play a role and affect the mental health of BIPOC and other often overlooked communities and incorporates this in her practice.
Carla is a Tagalog speaking, Filipina Malaysian, born in Manila, Philippines and raised in the suburbs of Los Angeles. Her personal experiences have helped shape her counseling style and overall outlook and approach to life. In her personal time she enjoys traveling, along with spending time with her husband, twin sons, and friends over some good food and 90’s hip hop and r&b.
