Fluent in English and Cantonese (粵語), I am experienced in supporting individuals, couples, and families through therapies such as Emotionally Focused Therapy, with a trauma-informed and neurodiversity-affirming approach. It may not be so easy to pick a therapist, I get that. At the same time, I know how much talking to a therapist who gets you can be so helpful. In recognizing each person’s unique concerns, I centre my professional approach on: compassion, attachment theory, and being trauma-informed. As a neurodivergent therapist, I am committed to supporting individuals with ADHD and autism from lived experience.
I have been primarily trained as a professional psychotherapist to work in Emotionally Focused Therapy while integrating Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). Having immigrated from Hong Kong and grown up in the Greater Toronto Area, I am keenly aware of the difficulties that come with adjusting to Canada.
If you want to explore how I might be able to support you as your therapist, feel free to email me to book a free complementary intake meeting for 15 to 30-minutes over a video or phone call. If cost is a barrier, you can ask if you qualify for a lower fee based on your financial situation through a sliding scale payment option.
To schedule, email me with a few of your available times and dates. My email contact information is available on my website at: chislonchow.com
