Whether you are seeking support with a difficult time, navigating life’s complexities, or managing mental and emotional discomfort, therapy can offer the consistency and accompaniment needed to create lasting change. There are times when our usual patterns of thinking, feeling, and being are in need of attention. My aim is to collaborate with you in creating a space where curiosity, dialogue, and working through things together will help you uncover new ways to be in our world.
I work with people dealing with a variety of themes including relationships (family, couples, social, etc), trauma, anxiety, overwhelming emotions, work/life balance, existential concerns, unwanted patterns of thinking/acting, gender, sexuality, race and cultural assimilation, and self-esteem. Because of my own lived experiences, I am passionate about providing affirming care to queer, gender-expansive, bi/multiracial Asian American individuals and couples who have had a difficult time finding therapists to connect with due to these intersecting identities.
My approach to therapy is warm, direct, playful and engaging. I am a careful listener and strive to create an environment of openness and non-judgement. I am trained in AEDP, which is an experiential trauma processing therapy that emphasizes creating safety in the therapeutic relationship in order to reestablish connection to previously closed off emotions. I also draw from a psychoanalytic approach to therapy and work with my clients to explore the impact of inner conflicts, past traumas, and uncover hidden sources of clinical concerns. I am in the process of expanding my practice to include behavioral modalities such as DBT and techniques like EMDR
