You always look for ways you can grow in order to evolve into a better human and achieve your goals.
But lately, you are having a difficult time being present, enjoying life and living into who you truly want to be.
You have always worked hard to be the reliable one in your relationships; this has become a part of your identity, but you are realizing this is only a superficial part of who you are.
You feel overwhelmed by your own expectations and standards and this only feeds your sense of shame.
You are unable to ask for help, even as you are drowning from feeling burnt out, because your past experiences told you that you cannot trust or rely on others and you are afraid to be let down.
You have tried different ways to get better and yet you still experience difficulty accomplishing daily tasks, finding yourself distracted and disengaged, running in survival mode most days.
It is all too overwhelming and you are ready to try something different.
I am a registered Associate Clinical Social Worker in the State of California, under the supervision of Ah Hyun Lee, LCSW. I am based in Los Angeles, currently offering telehealth appointments.
I was born in South Korea, and I immigrated to Los Angeles as a preteen. I am a person of faith, a bilingual Korean American therapist, and a daughter of a first-generation immigrant family.
It would be my privilege to hold space for your unique identity, layered by your familial, cultural and/or spiritual experiences, where you may have been the bridge between cultures and your own family.
My approach is grounded in cultural humility, attachment-based and trauma-informed lens. I am trained in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and EMDR therapy.
