I’m Laura X. Williams (she/her+). I also go by 魏倪香。
I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist-Supervisor (CO), Licensed Addiction Counselor (CO), and AASECT Certified Sex Therapist practicing in Denver, Colorado where the Cheyenne, Arapaho, and Ute people have connected and lived with respect to the land before settler-colonialism. My practice acknowledges the need for meaningful dialogue around how we came to be and that includes ancestral wisdom and practice.
I value human connection, authenticity, and social justice in my practice of psychotherapy and community building. Whether you are an individual seeking identity/belonging, in a couple navigating complex dynamics, or a family moving through life transitions, I am here to support you.
My experience ranges from transracial adoption/foster care, to substance-use counseling, to couples/families navigating open relationships, infidelity, desire gaps, communication issues, and family planning. If you see yourself in conflict with yourself, others, or the world, I might be a meaningful part of your journey.
I am influenced by the theoretical frameworks of Emotionally Focused Therapy, Internal Family Systems, and Compassionate Inquiry. How I navigate the world as a queer cis Chinese American Transracial Adoptee, also impacts my style of psychotherapy.
