Bio
Are you feeling lost or stuck? Is your life going in circles? Are you wanting more from yourself? Psychotherapy can be a challenging, liberating, and empowering process of self-discovery that helps you to feel more alive and make real, meaningful changes to your life.
.
Having worked widely with people of diverse backgrounds, I approach each therapeutic relationship openly, collaboratively, and compassionately. My interactive style is informal and understanding yet direct and transparent. Together, we will devise a plan that fits your needs, priorities, and values to address emotional barriers to your happiness and sense of purpose.
.
I am experienced in working with adults to enhance their self-awareness, mastery, and agency as they make important life decisions and transitions. I specialize in working with members of the AAPI and LGBT communities, including identity and relationships, gender and sexuality issues, and coping with culture-specific, race-related, and other minority stress.
.
Primarily, I practice psychodynamic psychotherapy, which can help you to understand how past experiences, relationships, and unconscious conflicts shape your ability to handle life’s challenges and lead fulfilling lives in the present. I draw from cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), which can help you to examine how your ways of thinking influence feelings and actions, and from multicultural counseling, which can guide you to explore how your cultural identities, experiences, needs, and strengths influence psychological health.
.
Investing in your psychological wellness can be among the most rewarding and life-changing decisions. I am committed to assisting you to navigate new pathways to clarity, personal freedom, and fulfillment. I provide individual psychotherapy and coaching to adults who reside in Hawaiʻi and California. Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions.
