As a bi-cultural, Taiwanese, first-generation immigrant woman, these intersections give me insight into how cultural factors influence personal, relational, intergenerational, and systemic aspects of the human experience. I also have a deep understanding of possible challenges of transitioning between cultures as well as navigating through interpersonal, familial relationships, and conflict within these contexts. I specialize in Art Therapy, and am fluent in both Mandarin and English– sessions can be provided in both languages.
Through an anti-oppressive, intersectional, client-centered approach, I support individuals navigating relationships, trauma, marginalization, anxiety, depression, life transitions, deepening their understanding of themselves, and other therapeutic goals.
I believe the therapeutic process is non-linear and there is no one approach or modality for all since each of us have our own unique stories. I integrate a variety of techniques (narrative, psychodynamic, dialectical behaviour therapy, mindfulness practices, trauma-informed, and attachment-informed approaches) to best suit your needs.
As a visual artist, I believe in the magic of art. By opening up creatively, instinctively, and authentically through exploration and play; we are able to connect to our true selves. Art has provided me an avenue to gain a deeper sense of self-awareness in my ongoing healing journey and I hope to walk alongside yours.
I have always enjoyed making deep connections with others and believe it is the foundation of any relationship, especially in a therapeutic setting. My style is relaxed, warm, and conversational, which allows clients to feel comfortable and respected. I also strive towards justice, inclusiveness, and community building while being kind and compassionate towards myself and others. I engage in ongoing learning and constant self-reflection in my personal and professional life.
As someone who continues to navigate and heal through interpersonal, familial relationships and intergenerational trauma, especially within the context of transitioning between cultures, I understand the challenges and pain my clients may be experiencing. I see you and would like to invite you to reach out and see how I can best support you on your journey.
