Bio

Hi! I’m Angela, and I help bicultural young adults smash imposter syndrome and build confidence so they can do what they do best. I’m passionate about helping people recognize their potential by living fearlessly and letting go of “should’s” and “shouldn’ts.”

As a second-gen Korean American who was born and raised in New York, I’ve lived in a duality of cultures my entire life. With my lived experience along with my background as a social worker, I approach therapy from a social justice and antiracism lens. I fully recognize (and help you process) the negative impacts that racism and other forms of oppression have on your mental health.

I provide teletherapy for clients in New York and Texas via video sessions. When you work with me, therapy is a two-way street that is fully engaging and collaborative. Which means I am not the sit-and-nod kind of therapist. I’ll likely sprinkle in my sense of humor into our sessions, may or may not ugly-laugh, and will definitely call out the elephant in the room whenever necessary.

I completed my psychotherapy training hours at Lenox Hill Hospital, Bellevue Hospital, and in a private practice setting at The Soho Center in NYC. My work as a hospital social worker informed my understanding of the impact of trauma and social injustices on community mental health at a systemic level. As a therapist in private practice, I continue to work with a trauma-informed and social justice approach.
