Bio
Life transitions can be challenging: meeting personal, professional, societal, and family expectations can certainly add to feelings of anxiety and/or depression.  Even when the changes are positive, they can still push us beyond our comfort zone.  We must have self-compassion and patience while we navigate these challenging times and hold ourselves accountable for our decisions.  We will work together to find the balance in your life so you can thrive instead of just surviving.
I focus on supporting and counseling adults 17 years old and older in the immigrant population, the international students, and the BIPOC population. My background training includes the treatment of addiction, trauma, and mental health disorders. I am a bicultural, bilingual Asian sensitive to the needs of communities of color. I work with adults at different stages and consider myself an ally of the LGBTQ community.
I support my clients by utilizing an integrative and holistic approach incorporating Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, mindfulness, psychodynamic therapy, positive psychology, and motivational interviewing in my sessions. I believe in collaborating with my clients by utilizing a strength-based modality to develop their growth mindset and have a deeper understanding of themselves as they explore new skills to make positive changes.
