Bio

Hi! My name is Muneet Kaur Malhi and I am a Canadian-born and raised Punjabi Sikh living in the US. I specialize in working with South Asians, specifically South Asian children of immigrants. Given my own background, I have first-hand knowledge of what it’s like to balance different identities and navigate paths not made of BIPOC individuals. My intersecting identities also allow me to understand the importance of intersection in these conversations and the societal norms placed on certain identities, such as being a woman. As someone in higher education, I understand the ideals and pressures of perfectionism and high achievement in Asian cultures. I enjoy supporting personal growth across the lifespan, and have a niche interest in working with adolescents and early adults (ages 18-24).

In the therapy room, I focus on helping you understand you, at whichever stage of life you are in. I use a systems-based approach to therapy that allows me to understand how various social and institutional systems have influenced your individuality in way that is or is not congruent with whom you wish to be. I incorporate a relational approach to therapy that allows me to be an active participant in your personal growth.

I am currently a Clinical Psychologist working under Dr. Divya Jain’s supervision at Bodh Center for Wellness. I graduated with my Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology from Adler University in 2024 and am working towards independent licensure in Illinois. I have previously trained in a variety of settings, including community mental health centers, outpatient hospital settings and inpatient psychiatric wards.
