Elaine Cheung, MMT, MTA

Sex/Gender: Female
Pronouns: She / Her
Ethnicity: Chinese

My name is Elaine (she/her). I am a Certified Music Therapist (MTA) and Counselling Therapist (ACTA) with over six years of experience. I have had the opportunity to work with people of all ages and abilities; from preschoolers, teens and adults with developmental disabilities, adults in ICU and neuro-rehab, as well as seniors in long term care. Through those experiences, I’ve found that I love hearing people’s individual stories about their connections with music as they relate to who they are.

So, I am here to listen. I am also here to provide opportunities to maximize your potential for change and growth. My practice is music-centred and humanistic, drawing from various therapy approaches that might best fit your needs.

In a music therapy session, we may talk, sing, improvise, write and listen to music. I will support you in order to make your experience a fulfilling one. No previous musical training or experience necessary.

I look forward to meeting with you!
