As an Asian mental health counsellor, my journey began with a deep search for meaning, leading me across the globe to Thailand, India, and Nepal. There, I immersed myself in Buddhism, meditation, and language, gaining valuable insights into spiritual growth. In Thailand, I practiced and taught mindfulness. While in Nepal, I completed undergraduate and graduate studies in Buddhism and Himalayan Languages, alongside translating Buddhist texts and attending meditation retreats.
This spiritual exploration inspired me to pursue graduate studies in Counselling Psychology, where I realized that true healing requires both psychological and spiritual growth. My experience working with vulnerable youth has deepened my understanding of childhood trauma and its lasting impact.
As a second-generation Chinese Canadian, I am passionate about incorporating cultural wisdom, spirituality, and compassion into therapy. I use a blend of approaches, including EMDR, Internal Family Systems (IFS Level 2), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Mindfulness, Compassion-Focused Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Psychedelic Harm Reduction, to provide culturally sensitive and compassionate care tailored to your needs.
I am committed to creating a safe, understanding space for individuals of all backgrounds, especially those from Asian communities, to heal, grow, and reconnect with their true selves.
