Bio

Kris Banda (they/she) is a child of immigrants and refugees who became a counselor to support their communities within all the spaces they reside in. Kris primarily works with trauma (ie, intergenerational/legacy, immigration/asylum, 2SLGBTQIA+ identity, adoption/fostering, deconstructing/reconstructing religion), however they always work from an anti-oppression lens towards decolonizing therapy. To heal our community, we heal ourselves. Our personal liberation is our community’s liberation.

Kris Banda (they/she) has co-facilitated with Dr Kulkiran Nakai PsyD, through the Asian Mental Health Collective an 8wk virtual Queer/Trans Asian Support group in 2023.

Kris Banda (they/she) will be co-facilitating with Dr Kulkiran Nakai PsyD through the Asian Psychedelic Collective an 8wk virtual group centered around the Pet to Threat Phenomenon in 2024.
