I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who provides both individual and relational psychotherapy. I specialize in relational challenges, anxiety, ADHD, sexuality, polyamory/non-monogamy, and multicultural identities. I am especially passionate about supporting queer people of color and individuals from immigrant communities. Couples and partners who want to deepen their relationships, build empathy and understanding for each other, and explore their attachment dynamics are also a joy for me to work with.
My therapeutic approach is grounded in attachment theory. Through deep exploration of past and present relationship dynamics, I help my clients engage in the hard work of building relationship security. I also enjoy helping clients build self-compassion, improve communication skills, and get more in touch with their emotional experiences. As a relational therapist, I am committed to taking an open, authentic, and engaging approach to understanding my clients’ strengths, needs, and values.
In addition to relational, attachment-focused work, I utilize modalities such as emotionally focused couples therapy, narrative therapy, psychodynamic therapy, ACT, and internal family systems therapy. My practice is also informed by thought leaders in transformative justice, abolitionist, and decolonizing movements.
I received my education at the University of Chicago and have continued to practice in Chicago, IL ever since. As a child of Chinese immigrants, I am also conversationally fluent in Mandarin.
Disclaimer: I hold identities and values that are important to me beyond what I have listed here, so if you ever have questions about me, I am happy to engage in thoughtful conversation around them.
