Clients often come to counselling when they are struggling, finding that their usual strategies are no longer effective, or when they are feeling “stuck” in life. I have experience working with clients who find themselves struggling with various concerns like: depression, anxiety, stress, anger, trauma, mood concerns, relationship issues, and other complex presentations. However, I specialize working with Asian-Canadians facing concerns with stress-related concerns, life-transitions, relationship concerns, or career-related issues that are complicated by cultural and familial factors. I particularly enjoy working emerging adults, but everyone is always welcome to the therapy space.
I take a person-centered approach in therapy. What does this mean? It means that I commit to seeing you as… well, You! I recognize that each individual has their own unique strengths and values. I bring in 9+ years of mental health experience, as well as specialized training in Cognitive-Behavioural and Solution-Focused Therapies, but also integrate techniques from Narrative Therapy, Acceptance Commitment Therapy, and other modalities to ensure you are feeling well-equipped and empowered to take on life’s challenges.
