You’re lazy. Lately, your critical self has been in full force that you can narrowly acknowledge your own unique strengths. If your boyfriend recommends you another podcast, you are going to scream because that makes you feel like you are alone in pushing the stone of your mental wellness up the hill.
When you have been swept up by emotions, feeling truly understood by others is a foreign experience. In the past, advice had been thrust on you which you blindly followed and now you are questioning what is right for you. Secretly, your heart is aching for someone to just get it.
As a therapist, I am committed to being fully present in our work so that you can know that when you feel inadequate, you have someone who is curious to explore that feeling with you rather than prescribe you cookie-cutter wisdom. I aim to be a therapist who sees you as capable AND human at the same time, because I recognize I am human too.
