Bio

I work with clients from all backgrounds and orientations who feel alienated or disconnected from themselves because of loss or trauma.  I enjoy supporting individuals who are navigating the complexities of being 1.5 or 2nd generation Asian Canadian who struggle to find a balance between competing cultural values, feel a sense of otherness or are choosing a path that strays from expectations.

Loss isn’t just death, it also includes a loss of relationship, job, opportunity, identity or safety. Loss may anticipated or sudden and unexpected.  The impact of that on our lives may be traumatic, disorienting and full of grief. You may be feeling overwhelmed, lost and unsure of the future.

I believe, the therapy space is a place for deep self-exploration that welcomes all the weird, gritty, rejected parts of being human. I am here to meet you, in this space, right where you are.

Sometimes we need to take therapy beyond talk and experience what being felt in our body moment to moment because, sometimes, there just aren’t words. Leaning on other healing modalities can provide other avenues to explore such as spirituality, somatic work and physicality. For some, this could be psychedelics or plant medicines. We can talk about this if you’re curious or have had experience with it.

My experience in ophthalmology and hospice have given me the opportunity to meet and share in a client’s most vulnerable and intimate moments of loss with humility and loving-kindness.

I am an empathetic listener and compassionate companion with a depth and capacity for big emotions and your darkest shadow.  I use a client-centred approach that integrates relational psychodynamic, experiential and somatic therapies to help you find your way back to your self.

Let’s see how we can work together with all that you bring to therapy with a free consultation.
