Clinical Approach Dr. Munn’s passion is to empower families and help individuals to cultivate a healthy sense of self, work through life stressors, improve performance, and address concerns about the past, present and future. An important aspect of effective therapy is having a supportive relationship in which her clients are able to talk comfortably about their thoughts, emotions, and experiences. Therefore, Dr. Munn provides a counseling approach that is culturally sensitive, collaborative, warm, encouraging, empathic, and authentic. Her treatments are grounded in attachment and evidence-based theories of human functioning and change (cognitive behavioral, exposure, solution focused, mindfulness, EMDR, motivational enhancement & strength based).
Personal Background: Dr. Munn is very passionate about helping individuals and families to strengthen, heal and transform. As an Asian American woman, a child of refugees, and a first generation undergraduate and graduate student, Dr. Munn draws from these rich experiences to deepen her empathy and connection to her clients’ pain points.
Hobbies: When Dr. Munn is not practicing psychotherapy, she loves traveling, going on hikes and long runs along the beach, and being outdoors as much as possible; she really enjoys trying new restaurants and frequenting her favorite restaurants, and spending quality time with friends and family; she highly values and prioritizes health/wellness and learning, including having daily homemade green smoothies packed with antioxidants, continuously developing a new skill, listening to audiobooks and podcasts, and finding ways to live a more balanced, productive, and meaningful life.
