Bio

Hi there! My name is Nancy Tran and I’m a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying). I work with individuals 18+ virtually throughout Ontario. I have a special interest in working with those who experience anxiety, depression, OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder), self-esteem issues, life transitions, BFRB (Body Focused Repetitive Behaviours), relational issues and intergenerational trauma. I have also worked with many students and BIPOC clients in my years of practicing and these populations have quickly become areas of focus.

I am a collaborative and eclectic therapist – this means I work with my clients to help determine what course of treatment or action is best for them. I pull from CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy), mindfulness, ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy), IFS (Internal Family Systems), psychodynamic, exposure and attachment-based theories in my work. I try my best to be a relational therapist – with that, we will work together to find meaning and insight what matters to you. Creating a warm, non-judgmental and inviting environment for you to trust the process of therapy is what I aim to do.

I am a member of the CRPO (College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario) and a professional member with the CCPA (Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association), in good standing. I have a BA in Psychology from the University of Ottawa and a Master of Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University. I continuously grow and expand my knowledge of treatment modalities and mental health resources through trainings, readings and articles.

Beyond work, I am a first-generation-born Vietnamese Canadian; my parents immigrated to Canada in the early 90s. I was born and raised in Ottawa – it’s not as boring as you may think! I am a huge foodie and reality TV binger. These are some ways I like to unwind from clinical work. In addition, I have a 2.5-year-old “lavender” Boston Terrier named Ramsey (yes, after Gordon Ramsay – ask me the story behind it!) and a 3-year-old tabby cat named Milano. Animals make me so happy, so if you have any… I’d love to meet them!
