Our experiences and environment play a key role in who we are, and are often the sources of our problems and disability. Gender, class, race, and trauma are just some of the things I believe impact our physical/mental wellbeing. I take an Adlerian approach to counseling, applying a trauma-informed and social model of disability lens to my practice in order to define and tackle problems.
I believe clients have the ability to choose how to resolve their own problems with my assistance as a facilitator. Of course, some things are out of our hands, but what choices can we make of the things within our control? I create a space to develop insight and awareness in order to grow and heal. I use mindfulness development, expressive arts, and EMDR therapy in my work with clients.
I work with adolescents and adults, and have a particular interest in working with LGBTQ and Asian populations and people with other marginalized identities. I want our work to be collaborative and take an abolitionist stance on counseling, so crisis prevention and using community support are priorities in my practice.
Outside the office, I enjoy playing with cats, knitting/crocheting, watching baseball (go Pirates!), and practicing tarot.
Note: I’m only able to accept clients in Texas at this time.
My current rates are $115/session with reduced fee availability.
