With mental health being so stigmatized and often misunderstood, it can be confusing to understand your own mental health and how it impacts your life. Starting therapy can be an exciting, unpredictable, courageous, and scary journey. I would be honored to walk with you on that journey, no matter what stage of life you’re in.
I approach therapy from a humanistic lens and enjoy incorporating play therapy and expressive arts into my work. I believe that providing individuals the space to express their feelings and thoughts in a way that utilizes their creative muscle is essential to well being. I encourage all clients to incorporate playfulness in their lives. Therapy provides a unique healing relationship, and I strive to help you recognize and lean into your full potential.
My clients can expect to be met with openness, curiosity, and thoughtfulness. I structure sessions in a way that feels conversational and collaborative. My role is to support and advocate for you by creating safety around facing your inner world, finding ways to be honest, and empowering yourself to be free of judgment and criticism. I work hard to foster trust, safety, and curiosity within the counseling relationship.
I have experience working with children, adolescents, and adults who are struggling with depression, anxiety, self-esteem, cultural assimilation, cultural trauma, transitions, disordered eating, and body image. I am especially passionate about supporting those coming from immigrant family backgrounds, as well as first-generation individuals in understanding their identity in regards to their values, cultural background, and ethnicity. My therapeutic approach integrates neurobiology, trauma-informed care, and cultural competency. There is no issue too big or too small for therapy. I would love to hear your story and empower, support, and advocate for you.
