Bio

I am a licensed psychologist with a Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from Texas A&M University (APA-Accredited). If you’re interested, please visit my website www.drvytherapy.com to read more about my specialties, therapy approaches, and FAQs.

I completed my internship at Texas Woman’s University – Counseling and Psychological Services with specialized training in working with women’s issues throughout their lifespan, healing from family trauma, exploring cultural diversities/intersectional identities, and understanding self-worthiness. I gained extensive experience in community health clinics, career centers, hospitals, crisis call hotlines, university college centers, MHMR, and telehealth clinics for underserved communities.

My clinical interests include supporting clients through:

  • Childhood trauma and dysfunctional family systems
  • High-achieving perfectionism
  • Anxiety management
  • Personal & professional identity development
  • Life transitions and stressors
  • Low self-esteem and self-worth
  • Relationship concerns

You will find me as warm and genuine, yet direct and interactive. I understand your innate desire for authentic human connection where you are truly heard. Therefore, I am intentional about providing a healing environment where you feel supported to express vulnerability and explore root causes to find solutions for your concerns.

I help individuals like you seek meaning and insight into how your past/current lived experiences affect self-perception, relationships, emotions, and identity. By incorporating multicultural and contextual factors, I ensure a holistic understanding of your personhood.

My treatment integrates multiple frameworks of evidence-based psychotherapies. I utilize strengths-based, cognitive-behavioral, and emotions-focused interventions. With gentle challenges and a caring embrace, I will walk alongside you to establish manageable steps to meet your goals.

I offer a space for your growth through active participation, emotional validation, concrete strategies, and healing through a corrective interpersonal relationship. Based on your preferences, I implement written, experiential, and creative techniques to maximize therapy.
