If you grew up in an environment where mental health is not talked about and where needing support is seen as weakness, reaching out for help can be extremely difficult. I am familiar with this experience and understand that trusting a professional takes tremendous courage. As your therapist, I will take a holistic, culturally sensitive approach in helping you with stress, loss and life transitions.
You may be feeling stuck with difficult emotions, experiencing thinking patterns that make you feel defeated or overwhelmed. You are not alone. In working together, I hope to get to know the real you. My priority is to ensure that you are heard, validated and understood.
My approach is trauma-informed and identity affirming, rooted in compassion and curiosity. I draw from a variety of therapeutic approaches to create a plan that is tailored to your needs. This can include Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Mindfulness based practices. I strive to create safer spaces that help individuals identify and build resilience, enhance coping strategies and live a life that is authentic and fulfilling.
