Bio

I am a Transracial, Korean Adoptee, adopted at the age of 5 years old.  My family already had 5 children: 2 born to my parents and 3 others adopted (2 also adopted from Korea).  I was the youngest and last to join.  My parents were White, both coming from Dutch heritages.  We lived in a primarily White area, so where I went to school, church, and grew up did not provide any Asian role models or contacts.  Being in community with other adoptees has been the most helpful to me so I want to provide the same for others.  As a therapist, I see adults who share about a lot of different experiences, and I specialize in working with adoptees.  In addition to working with individuals, I facilitate an in person support group for adoptees 18-29 years old.  My passion is to advocate for adoptees, so in addition to doing that through therapy and support groups, I’ve spoken on several panels, in classrooms, seminars, podcasts, and interviews.  Outside of work, I enjoy reading, music, photography, walking, hanging out with friends, KDramas and other movies, cooking/baking.
